Out of the Woods
I got back last night from a trip up north to hunt deer on some family land. Had a pretty good hunt and ended up with a young buck. The deer population in the area is high and the deer look to be very healthy. It sure is relaxing sitting out in the beautiful Minnesota woods, relaxing, watching the birds and squirrels play, and waiting for that deer to come along. I've been reading a bit on deer management and have decided that when I go back up to hunt again next week that I'll focus on getting a doe and let the other bucks remian. It sounds like there's a need for maintaining a stronger buck population and thinning the does right now. This should make for a stronger herd.
