Ode to My Late Mother-in-Law

The following poem was written by my late mother-in-law's brother. My mother-in-law passed over in late 2004 due to pancreatic cancer. This is beautiful and my wife and I agree that it sums up our feelings as well. Here it is.

-----

A light has gone dark in my heart.

It has been taken, somewhat, apart.

I see my sister as she paints the clouds,

Reds, yellows, blues and crimson too,

And Cathie will stay in my mind and soul

Until I grow weary and old.

Cathie today is your 60th year,

And I look on it with happiness and tears.

You will always be my sister, forever

And I know one day we'll all be together.

Until that day I'll think of you,

With the reds, yellows and crimson too!

From your brother David, January 9, 2005
