Deer Hunting 2008

Last weekend I went out to the 40 and sat in my stand early sunrise. I fired up the wood stove and got comfortable. About 15 minutes in, two deer came running in and stopped. I took a shot at this buck and somehow missed the first shot. It stopped after a few jumps and gave me a second chance. I hit it dead on and dropped it with the second shot. Now I've got some wonderful steaks in my freezer and will be grinding up much of the remainder for jerky and other recipes.

What an awesome buck! Just the right size to harvest for table fare.
