Memorial Day Weekend

It's been a great Memorial Day Weekend. We went up to Brainerd for most of the weekend and visited my Dad. His new deer stand is pretty awesome. It has a 4 foot deck all around it, a great wood stove inside, a shingled roof, and windows that slide up to open. Took the ATV out a bit and put a few miles on it out on "The 40" and ran around the pond behind my Dad's house a bit too.

For once Memorial Day is sunny and warm in Minnesota. Seems like the last few years it's always rained. We watched the VFW's 21 gun salute at the cemetary this morning giving tribute to the fallen soldiers.

We consumed deep fried turkey for lunch and had some excellent potato salad and tuna salad to round out a perfect summertime picnic meal. I banged up my ankle crawling around a waterfall in Marine on St. Croix. It was worth it to see the beautiful waterfalls hidden in the trees below the road on Rose Street. The kids climbed the small waterfall right in the middle.

Two weeks until Tim and Angela get married!
